RationalSurvey respects the privacy of our customers, survey participants, and visitors.

• Your personal information is safe.

  Any information you provide to us including personal and account information (name, address, telephone number and e-mail, etc) will not be released, sold, or rented to any outside entity.

• Survey Creators own all survey data.

  Survey creators own all survey data (including questions and responses) which they enter and collect including both survey questions and all answers provided by survey responders to those questions.

• We respect your survey participants.

  We will not contact your survey participants unless you ask us to.

Survey Creators vs. Survey Participants

RationalSurvey is used by survey creators (those who create surveys) and survey participants (those who answer surveys questions). Information collected by survey creators becomes the property of the survey creator. It is up to the survey creator to decide how this data is utilized and to make sure that it is used in a way which follows all applicable laws and conventions.

We do not gather or store participant contact information except for the sole purpose of allowing survey creators to manage and organize lists of participants and to distribute surveys to those participants.

RationalSurvey does not release participant data to anyone other than the survey owner.

RationalSurvey provides survey creators the ability to share survey results with others. It is up to the survey owner to make sure that any information disclosed to any third parties does not violate any applicable laws or conventions.

What are your rights to the information?

You can update your account information at any time.

You can view and download survey response data in various formats.

You can delete surveys. Deleting surveys may not permanently delete the survey data. We reserve the right to keep the data for the purposes of restoring accidentally deleted information.

You can cancel your account. Doing so may or may not delete all the information associated with your account. If you would like us to permanently delete all information associated with your account, please contact us. Data deleted from our primary servers may reside in backups for as long as 12 months thereafter.

When and how do we disclose your information?

We disclose your billing information to our service providers in order to complete financial transactions.

We disclose your account details to your billing contacts if necessary or requested by you.

We may disclose aggregated information in order to improve or promote our services.

Your information if required by law.

Any information which you consent to be shared.

Survey and customer data is stored in servers located in the United States.

RationalSurvey will do its best to keep your information personal and survey data secure by utilizing advanced security features such as SSL encryption and firewalls.

Reasonable use

RationalSurvey customers are responsible for respecting the laws governing their use of information gathered by RationalSurvey, and agree to respect the rights of survey participants by disclosing the intent of each survey as well as the identity of the organization or individual performing the survey. For example: You agree not to use RationalSurvey to send unsolicited emails to people who did not give you permission to contact them.

Transparency

You agree to voluntarily disclose your identity and intent for gathering data when collecting user responses. (RationalSurvey is not responsible for disclosing your information for you, you must do so in your own Terms of Service which you can optionally display at the beginning of each survey)

Data Quality

RationalSurvey will do all that it can to insure that data collected is accurate, complete and up-to date. If you suspect that there is a problem with the system, you should report the problem so that RationalSurvey can address and fix any problems that may arise - so long that it is within our power to do so.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey or fill out a form.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

What do we use your information for?

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our database to be only accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, billing address, & order) may be kept on file for more than 60 days in order to maintain a record of the transaction and to process automated recurring billing on your account.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their account information at anytime by logging into their account and accessing the account page.

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
